Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed the date at the company's earnings call, stating: "We believe Fiscal 2027 will establish new record levels of operating performance driven by the Nov. 19 launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, along with strong execution across our portfolio." The call had been circled on every GTA fan's calendar since the last delay was announced just minutes before a previous earnings call in November 2025.

A Rocky Road to Launch

GTA 6 has been officially delayed twice: first from its original 2025 target to Spring 2026, then from Spring 2026 to the current November 19, 2026 date. Each delay crushed fan expectations, making this final confirmation all the more meaningful.

Marketing Blitz Coming This Summer

Take-Two confirmed that Rockstar's launch marketing is set to begin this summer, signaling that more trailers and pre-order openings will likely be on the agenda, giving fans plenty to look forward to heading into fall. A third trailer is widely expected as part of this push.

What to Expect at Launch

GTA 6 arrives exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on day one. No PC release date has been announced. The game is set in the fictional state of Leonida, a reimagined Vice City inspired by modern-day Florida, featuring dual protagonists Jason and Lucia in a story-driven open world reportedly twice the size of GTA V's Los Santos.
